Jon grew up in Aurora, Illinois USA; just outside of Chicago.  He was exposed to house music at a young age, listening to the likes of the Hot Mix 5, Bad Boy Bill, & Julian Jumpin’ Perez on the radio station 102.7 FM, WBMX. By the time he was 12 years old he was already DJ’ing for local parties with local DJ’s, and barely getting paid. In 1991, Jon had his first taste of local notoriety; he submitted a mixtape to 107.5 WGCI for the Friday night mix show, and it was aired under his then name; Jammin The House Jon. Jon had come across mix tapes from Tim Spinnin Schommer, and Bobby D and he would listen to their style and edits. Jon had over the years, grown to know the edit techniques and still uses them today in his mixes and live show performances.

However, Jons real start was in 1996, when he met up with veteran Hard House Legend/Producer, DJ Trajic. Jon became a producer alongside Trajic before sprouting out to his own. Jon still maintained the dj styles in which he became accustomed to, but grew more as a producer during this time. His music was being featured in mixes, mix tapes and on mix shows from DJ’s in Chicago to L.A. Jon signed with Renegade Records in 1997, as a DJ and Producer with the likes of Too Kool Chris and Onofrio “DJ Insane” Lollino. Jon had the ability to work with the B96 radio station WBBM Mix Masters and DJ’d alongside them for various venues such as the B-Bash in 1997, & the Halloween Bash at the Odeum, in Villa Park, Illinois. At this time, Jon started touring the country as a DJ as well as producing Hard House. In 1997, Jon was introduced to Vince Lawrence by Trajic, and started to remix projects for big artists like R. Kelly, Toni Braxton, & Danity Kane.

While working with DJ Trajic, Jon had been introduced to one of his musical DJ icons, Bobby D. It is with the workings with Bobby D, that Jon had the ability to work with other labels, DJ’s and artists during this time. Jon focused mainly on releases with Jasperstone Records for the majority of his production. Jon then was offered to do regular guest mix spots on the Sunday mix show hosted by Tim Spinnin Schommer on WBBM FM, B-96.

In the early 2000’s Jon had several releases on various labels and in 2005 Jon had entered the digital realm and pioneered his own record label, Immense Recordings. While releasing material on his own label, Jon had one of his songs charted on Bad Boy Bill’s top track choices and it was in his live sets. With this, Jon can also be seen on the video for Bad Boy Bill’s Behind the Decks. Jon has also worked with labels such as: Movement Music (Chicago), System Recordings (New York), Function Recordings (Chicago), Great Stuff Records (Glasgow), Ministry of Sound (London), Potty Mouth Music (Chicago/LA), Cajual Records (Chicago), Bomb Squad (Australia), Dynamic Music (LA), Groove Fanatics (Netherlands), Direct Drive Digital (Chicago), Plush Recordings (Chicago), Shush Music (LA), Ammo Records (LA), Sick Recordings (Chicago), & Prompt Digital (LA) just to name some.

Over the years Jon has maintained his DJ career along with producing. He has been a resident DJ’d on countless radio mix shows, and online mix shows, and even hosted his own Friday night mix show on the college radio station 102.5 FM WIKD Daytona Beach. Jon has released several mix tapes in various formats, including several free digital downloads, and continues to create mixes and production for the party people.

Jon spends most of his time devoted to his family, but you can catch him from time to time spitting out mixes, some techno production and disco house production under his alias Tokyo Cartel.
