Melissa Bell of Soul II Soul passes

Soul II Soul, the late 80’s supergroup that took the world by storm with hits like Back To Life and Keep On Movin has lost a key member of the group.

Lead singer, Melissa Bell has passed away at the age of 53.

Bell joined the group in 1993.

Many may remember the voice of Caron Wheeler on the hits “Keep On Movin”, “Back To Life” and “Get A Life”. Wheeler left the group before the recording of the group’s second album, Vol.II: 1990 – A New Decade which debuted at #1 in the UK. Soon after, Nellee Hooper left and soon it was just Jazzie B who discovered Bell and added her as the new voice of the group,

It was Bell’s daughter Alexadra Burke, the phenom star and 2008 X Factor winner who broke the sad news with the world on Tuesday via Twitter. (See Below)
